Past and Present

Infinite Ridge is a rock group based in Bacolod City, Philippines and is composed of three young siblings: Josh, Justin, and Jamie. They cover songs of famous local rock bands like Parokya ni Edgar, Spongecola, Rivermaya, Callalily, and many more. Their foreign influences include Greenday, Bon Jovi, One Republic, Evanescence, Lifehouse, Paramore and Linkin’ Park. They have played tunes from some of the rock bands mentioned in some events where they performed either as front act or one of the artists in such event.

Their story started in 2016 when Josh decided to learn to use the acoustic guitar given to him by one of his aunts during his graduation from elementary in 2015. At that time, he was really not into playing instruments but when he discovered he can create music through his guitar, he started learning it all by himself with the help of YouTube videos and tabs found on the Internet. The following summer, he and his siblings enrolled at Hi-C Music Studio to learn guitars the proper way. Jamie, the youngest who was only 5 at that time also had guitar lessons while Justin learned the keyboards. They soon performed intermission numbers in some events and started uploading videos of their rehearsals on Infinite Ridge’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel on a semi-weekly basis and called it their “Weekend Jam.” Before long, they were already making their own compositions, some of which they also uploaded online.

The Panaad sa Negros Festival proved to be a major break for Infinite Ridge as they had their first solo concert during that time, the first was on April 14, 2018 during the opening of the festival where they performed 30 songs and on April 20 where they also performed the same number of songs. After that, they also had a major concert at the Handurayo Festival in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, on the occasion of the town's annual fiesta. The group performed 10 of their best songs at this particular concert. They also enjoyed a tour and performed in Iloilo along with other talents of Hi-C Music Studio.

Today, Infinite Ridge is setting its eyes on improving their skills and musical abilities. Though the group is still in the process of learning the ropes, progress is speedy, more so that a number of events and gigs are already in the bag and are just around the corner. With the dedication, patience and perseverance poured by Joshua, Justin and Jamie into their almost daily rehearsals that run anywhere between 2 and 3 hours, their instructors, friends and family believe that with God's Grace, they will make it!

Infinite Ridge Trivia

Did you know?

The first band name selected by the siblings is Pencils and Strings. After a particularly distressing and humiliating situation that Josh experienced in October of 2017 with a girl he truly loved who also happens to be his schoolmate at S.H.A., the siblings decided to rename the group Infinite Ridge to memorialize the deep wound caused by that unfortunate event.

Thus, it can be said that Infinite Ridge is a reminder of that deep wound caused by an intense love that will forever be remembered.

Fortunately, the summer of 2018 proved to be a life-changer for Josh as he met a new girl, one who showed him there is life after a heartbreak. This new girl, who also happens to have a profound passion for music and singing, became his girlfriend in May 11 of 2018. This explains why most of the songs composed or covered by the group has something to do with love, heartbreak, moving on, hope and second chances.

The first song played by the siblings in public as Pencils and Strings was Salamat by The Dawn and this was during the grandiose farewell party of a close family friend.
Did you know?

The first song uploaded on the Infinite Ridge Facebook Page was Your Song by Parokya ni Edgar and dedicated by Josh to his object of affection in the past, the one reason why the name Infinite Ridge was conceived.

While this song never cease to remind Josh of what could have been in the past, the iR frontman now says that it is more fitting to be sung for what can be in the future, pointing to his girlfriend, who also happens to be the love of his life. Although the couple are not about to predict what the future has in store for them, they make sure to strengthen their relationship at present so they could be ready whatever tomorrow has in store for them. They are now content at enjoying every moment together and showering each other with deep affection and love.
