Roaming Around The Modern Metropolis

Roaming around a modern metropolis is an enriching and rewarding experience. You gain a lot of knowledge and you get to feast your eyes on things you have not seen at home. This is particularly true especially if the place you're visiting has a modern and traditional culture so deeply intertwined that you see traces of it everywhere you go.

One of the most delightful things we experienced while roaming around this ultra-modern metropolis is that the people are surprisingly pleasant, polite, and helpful. They're not like the ones at home whose goals perhaps for that day is to become super indifferent to others. In this place where modern and tall skyscrapers almost always contrast with some traditional edifice or structure, people stop and greet you, though they speak a different language. There is also no facade behind their friendliness or an interest in whoever you may be or what you have. Everyone, it seems to us, are treated with the utmost respect and sense of equality.

They have deep concern for the environment. This is very much evident as you can't see even the littlest trash on the road. Walk some distance away from tall skyscrapers and you would surely find yourself in a beautiful garden with man-made waterfalls splashing gently along rock formations. These gardens were constructed in a way that it will comfort passersby and visitors after a long arduous day.

The food is delicious, though your palate may need some time for adjustment to set in. But if you want to eat the same things you have been accustomed to back home, you can always go to international fast food chains and have your fill. One thing that you should not pass up, though, is the ice cream. They have the thickest, creamiest and most delicious ice cream that we have tasted so far. This is one thing that we would have wanted to have back home.

Restaurants and designer shops pepper the sides of the streets and shopping districts. On an ordinary day, you would bump on myriads of people looking for things to buy. Unlike back home when malls seem to be empty except for a hundred or so shoppers, this highly urbanized place has lots of people going to and fro everywhere on any day, particularly after five in the afternoon.
